Boys Basketball | Winter Sport

HEAD COACH • Brian Mehrer

Coach Mehrer is a highly experienced Basketball Coach with 17 years of experience coaching at various levels of play. He is an energetic and team- oriented coach with a proven success in developing and executing successful basketball programs, and is passionate about motivating and guiding players to reach their full potential both on and off the court. He has deep enthusiasm for the game and is skilled in coaching, drill instruction, analyzing strategies, and motivating student-athletes. Through the use of consistent communication, positive reinforcement and individualized/team training, he has always been able to create a strong team environment in which players can grow and develop their skills.

Coach Mehrer holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology with minors in Coaching and Political Science, a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, and has completed all coursework in the Educational Administration Doctoral program at UNR. He brings his knowledge base in psychology and mentoring to the team, which has enabled him to create an effective and safe learning environment for the players.

Girls Basketball | Winter Sport

HEAD COACH • Tyler Jones

Sierra Lutheran High School is proud to welcome Tyler Jones as the head coach of the Girls Basketball program. Coach Jones brings a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court, with an emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. He is excited to build a competitive program rooted in hard work, sportsmanship,, and looks forward to leading the Lady Falcons this season.

Wrestling | Winter Sport

HEAD COACH • Thomas Hamamjy

This will be our school’s first time having a wrestling team. Starting from the ground up, we have acquired a great experienced coach. Coach Hamamjy utilizes the vessel of athletics to drive individual excellence and encourage young athletes to make the leap and compete at the collegiate level. His specialty is mindset coaching, helping young athletes approach life in a new way. Coach Hamamjy was Head Wrestling Coach at Leland High School (2019-2021), where he built a championship culture both on and off the mat while maintaining an excellent GPA and volunteering in the community.

Ski Team | Winter Sport

HEAD COACH • Bill McHenry

Coach McHenry brings his 34 years of coaching experience to the SLHS Ski team. As Athletic Director and multi-sport coach, he championed the ski program and in just a few years, the team has made amazing strides. He loves seeing skiers break barriers and experience the thrill of victory. Coach McHenry is dedicated to building competitive programs that develop well-rounded student-athletes who excel both in their sport and in life.
