The Vision Takes Shape
The vision for Sierra Lutheran High School began taking shape when a small team had a dream to create a new high-quality Christian high school for the Northern Nevada community. Their work included everything from curriculum development to teacher recruitment, enrollment, board formation, and site preparation—laying the foundation for a Christ-centered, college-preparatory school.

Securing Our First Home
Property owned by the Bentley Corporation was secured as the school’s first home. The space was remodeled to include five classrooms, a conference room, two offices, a multipurpose area, and a dining space. Two of the classrooms doubled as specialized labs—one for science and the other for computer instruction.

A Decade of Growth
During its first decade, Sierra Lutheran expanded faith-development programs, strengthened its college-prep curriculum, joined the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, and launched athletics in cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track and field.

Our Permanent Home
As enrollment surpassed 100 students, the school secured a 38-acre site in south Carson City with support from generous donors and the CNH District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Construction began, and in summer 2010 the campus at 3601 Romans Road opened—where the school thrives today.
