Parent Prayer Group
Thursdays, 7:15–7:45 a.m. | Room 133
There is a Parent Prayer Group on Thursdays from 7:15–7:45 a.m. in Room 133.
I am ashamed to say that I had seen that a Parent Prayer Group existed, but for a long time, I never took the opportunity to actually go. I thought, “That’s nice,” but always found myself prioritizing other things in my life, whether it was lesson planning or getting my own children out the door in the morning for school.
I finally took it upon myself to make sure I was at school and able to attend the group at 7:15 a.m., and it was amazing! Dr. Seddon leads the group and does such a wonderful job of connecting each part of the group intentionally to Bible verses related to our theme and to what is being shared in chapel, family groups, and staff devotions throughout the school year.
Every single child in our school is prayed for by name, with one grade being prayed for each Thursday. This is truly a beautiful and unique approach, and I found it to be a wonderful way to start my day at school.
Every single child in our school is prayed for by name.
All too often, we let the busyness of life sweep us away and don’t take the time to pause and be in community together, praying for one another as God has commanded. This morning group is a hidden gem of the school, and I’m hoping that by highlighting it here, it will no longer be hidden!
Whether you can only come once or you can make it every Thursday, I absolutely recommend joining this group. While I cannot make it every Thursday, it is truly enriching to sit with my brothers and sisters in Christ and pray for this community that we pour ourselves into, bringing our focus back to Christ and the work He accomplished on the cross.
