The new school year at SLHS is once again filled with exciting changes (a new Executive Director, two new full-time teachers, and two new part-time teachers), growth (the largest student body in school history), and development (construction of the new gym is completed, new course electives have been added to the curriculum, an improved college counseling program has been installed, etc.). Next, may I enthusiastically encourage you to mark the date of October 16 on your calendar? At 3:00 that afternoon, hundreds of God’s people will gather together for the formal Consecration/Dedication of the beautiful new campus facility that will provide Christ-centered, college preparatory education to teenagers of this area for decades to come. Governor Brian Sandoval (a Christian high school graduate), will be the featured speaker for the event, which will be followed by an Open House. Please join us for this very special celebration! • 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. – Consecration/Dedication Service in the gymnasium • 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Open House, tours of the building, refreshments, and fellowship – including a designated reception area for alums and their families. Finally, would you believe that the 2011-12 school year marks the 10^th anniversary of Sierra Lutheran High School?!  How quickly the years go by! A variety of plans are being developed to celebrate the milestone, including the formation of an alumni association. To that end, SLHS would like to ensure that it has updated contact information for each alum. An “Alumni Association Steering Committee” wants to contact every SLHS graduate to invite him/her to the October 16 event, and to begin establishing plans/activities for the future. Please anticipate that someone from this committee, or from the school, will be calling you for that contact information.
