2018-2019 Productions of The Importance of Being Earnest (top) and You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (bottom)
Our growing theater program is presenting a new batch of amazing performances this year!
Our 2019-2020 theater course offering is Theater A, which gives students an opportunity to engage with the arts of theater from the stage to the page. This course, one of two parts that can be taken in either order, includes units in script analysis, adapting works for stage and other settings, character study, stage makeup, and script writing. Our course this year will culminate in a theatrical performance of a work written by our own students for the Fine Arts Showcase on May 5th!
SLHS will also offer students the opportunity to participate in the fall and spring productions. This option is open to any student, whether or not they have the opportunity to fit the theater classes into their schedule.
This Fall the department will be performing our second ever play by William Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This classic work of fantasy features mishaps in love and meddling by fairies. Come November 14th-16th for lots of laughs and fun for all!
This Spring, students will be performing a season of improv comedy! Each performance will be a unique and hilarious experience that is guided by lots of audience participation. We will have 1 performance each month. More scheduling information to come.
