Welcome to Sierra Lutheran High School!

What Makes Sierra Lutheran High School Distinctive?

Sierra Lutheran’s reputation for providing top tier, one-on-one instruction in a family oriented Christian setting has been the catalyst for the school’s success. We place the highest percentage of graduates in college of any high school in the greater Carson City area. A strong sense of community – and our focus on creating opportunities for every student – makes Sierra Lutheran an ideal choice for families who want an individualized education for their child.

How Would You Describe Campus Life at SLHS?

Not all learning takes place at a desk! SLHS students are known for their renaissance involvement in co-curricular activities ranging across the arts, athletics, academic competition, and student government.

Can I Be Involved in My Child’s Education?

Our students and their families are our family. We welcome parent involvement, and parents are always welcome on campus. “Every day is an open house at SLHS!”

How Can I Afford Private School?

Sierra Lutheran High School is pleased to offer need-based tuition assistance for qualified applicants. Approximately 30% of SLHS students receive tuition assistance. The application for financial aid is submitted after a student is admitted. Detailed information is available in the Admissions section of the website.

Does SLHS Have a Dress Code?

Yes. SLHS believes in a school culture that values a professional appearance from its faculty, staff, and students. Various prescribed wardrobe options are made available for students’ individual tastes.

All Students are Welcome at SLHS

SLHS has a diverse student population, representing over 20 church denominations as well as students with no church affiliation. Sierra Lutheran High School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of its admissions policies, educational policies, financial aid programs, athletics or any other school related program.
