Construction of Sierra Lutheran High School's new, permanent facility on a 38 acre parcel of land in north Douglas County is nearing completion. Groundbreaking for the $6.5 million building project was held in early February, 2009, and construction commenced the following day. Now, after fifteen months, builders have confidence that the entire project will be completed by early May, 2010, and that a Certificate of Occupancy will be obtained later that month. An Open House is tentatively scheduled for May 23 for all who is interested in touring the area's only Christian high school. In June, the high school will move its physical properties from the original, temporary facilities in Minden, into the new 33,000 square foot complex where the 2010-2011 school year will be held at this new, permanent location.
